You are God’s Ambassador on earth
For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time ~ Romans 8:19-22 NIV
With everything happening around us today, one thing we can’t deny is that the world is in much greater need than it was several decades ago. One pandemic after another, incurable sicknesses and diseases, depression and suicide, murder, divorce, abandonment, misery, heartbreaks, pain, adultery and fornication, idolatry, lies, kidnapping, slavery, greed, corruption and all manner of crimes are shaping our lives, society and the world at large in a way we never expected. Many are living in fear, hopelessness and despair. The world itself is corrupted and filled with wickedness, evil and sin. The consequences of these (death) has taken over the lives of many people, even believers, because we are not designed to endure them. God didn’t create man to endure the consequences of sin which is death, but to enjoy abundance of life and rest which can only come from His presence. Yet, I believe that it’s only a handful of us who really know and experience the abundance of life which Christ came to give us.
But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons. They have become plunder, with no one to rescue them; they have been made loot, with no one to say, “Send them back.” ~ Isaiah 42:22 NIV
Many destinies have been aborted and many visions, dreams and potentials have been buried in the graveyard, never to be realized or even fulfilled. Many people are lost and their real identities have been stolen by the enemy. As a result, they are living without understanding themselves; who they are, whose they are and why they exist in the first place. This has become the genesis of their frustrations, hopelessness, depression, weariness and troubles in life. While some are living without hope, others are in captivity – caged and sitting in dark prisons bound by the chains of the enemy.
Their minds have been corrupted and their authentic selves tampered with. They look and see themselves from the world’s point of view and they use the standards of the world to gauge and rate themselves. Their outlook towards life is worldly and their lifestyle, thoughts, actions and words are also worldly. They live in limitations, and to many of them, life is just a one boring routine they are unable to shake off. They don’t know victory or how it feels to enjoy life. Their hands hang limp because defeat is inevitable as far as they are concerned. They have surrendered to the king of this world who has not spared them one bit, and even though deep within them they long for freedom, peace and rest, their hearts and souls are totally worn out and their spirits faint within them. Something very strong and beyond their control has pushed them to the wall and sadly, they have surrendered.
It’s because of this kind of hopelessness that many people have opted to squeeze themselves to the limited opportunities available even if it means giving up their dignity, well-being and worse still, souls, to get them. Others have lowered their bars so low so that they can fit in and be accepted by the society and the world at large. They live and move with the masses, often buying and adopting other people’s ideas of life and following with great loyalty their instructions about life. They have shaped themselves to fit into other people’s definitions of life and in the process have ended up losing themselves. Some think they have freedom and have it all, but in real sense, they are slaves to the enemy. They are heading the wrong direction and the path they have taken is a path to destruction. They have been deceived, lied to and entered into the trap of the enemy without knowing. Yet in all these, God has not forgotten them. He already has a plan to set them free and give them rest.
You don’t have to look too far to figure out where that solution is or when it is likely to come, you as a child of God – a believer in Christ Jesus – are the carrier of that solution. God doesn’t use angels to reach out to people for salvation; He uses men and women. According to the scripture I have quoted at the beginning of this article, the world groans and waits for the manifestation of the sons and daughters of God, because they are clothed with the salvation it needs to be free. They carry the solutions it so much needs to be free.
Dr. Cindy Trimm says in her book “Till Heaven invades earth”;
‘When we become the children of God who we are each called to be, plugged into and led by the Holy Spirit, maturing into the fully functioning tripartite beings we were designed to become-things will change for the better. The kingdom of God will be manifest – not on the whole earth at first, perhaps, but at least in those places where we have influence.’
God desires to use His children as an example as well as instruments to reach out to others who are in dire need of salvation. Once you come into Christ Jesus and become a believer and His follower, you are enrolled as His ambassador. This means that one of your greatest responsibilities as a child of God is to win souls into the kingdom of God. You have the responsibility of dispensing the light of Christ to those who are in darkness and giving hope to the hopeless. God has delivered you and me from this same world and placed us strategically so that we can be a voice to the voiceless and restore others to Him–to give them hope and to show them the light of Christ. This is your major calling as an ambassador for Christ.
